Learn 21 new ways of building relationships with children and young people

As a Social Worker and Child Therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting children, young people, and their families, I have seen first-hand how important it is to build strong, trusting relationships with the children we work with. Children’s behaviours, emotions, and wellbeing are often shaped by their experiences, relationships, and how safe they feel with the adults supporting them. Creating opportunities for connection through fun, creative, and engaging activities can help children feel more relaxed, open, and willing to share their thoughts and feelings. Activities and games can be powerful tools to help professionals get to know children better, encourage communication, and create a safe and supportive space where children feel comfortable expressing themselves. These shared experiences can help strengthen trust, build rapport, and support meaningful conversations. Through this workshop, my aim is to equip you with practical, creative, and easy-to-use activities that can support you in building connections and developing positive relationships with children and young people.
